We offer the following types of sedation:
Laughing Gas
Also known as inhaled minimal sedation, the patient breathes laughing gas through a mask placed on the nose. We have the ability to control the amount of sedation during the procedure to offer optimal relaxation for the patient. The sedation effect of the gas wears off as soon as the flow is switched off.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedation can range from minimal to moderate depending on the dose given. Minimal sedation will require you to take a pill an hour before the sedation. This will make you drowsy, but you will still stay awake. The sedated patient will feel groggy and may fall asleep during the procedure.
Local Anesthesia
A local anesthetic is used to alleviate the sensation of pain at the site of treatment. Local anesthetics work by temporarily suppressing the nerves that send pain signals to the brain. They are generally administered by means of an injection given right before the treatment. The effect of the anesthetic wears off sometime after the procedure is over.
